IOA stands for Interstate Oratorical Association. It is the longest running, and most prestigious, speech competition in the United States. IOA is a persuasion only tournament. Only the top two people in persuasion from each state qualify to attend IOA. Each qualifier turns in a copy of their speech to be published. UF was lucky to qualify two people to the 142nd IOA at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Neil Decenteceo won the first seat to represent Florida with his first place win at the FIFA State Tournament! Erin Schoch won the second seat to represent Florida with her second place win at the FIFA State Tournament! Neil Decenteceo was next in to out rounds while, Erin Schoch made it to semifinals. The team had great time competing and was thrilled to have such a strong end to a great season!
